| Description | U.S. Rep. Mark Kennedy on Friday announced his campaign for Senate in 2006, moving quickly to stake out his position as a front-runner among a slew of Republican hopefuls.
In a brief speech to supporters, Kennedy touched on his pro-military positions and his support for changes in Social Security. But he also played up his small-town roots, recalling growing up on a farm and making his first money picking strawberries and pumping gas.
