Description | ATLANTA (AP) -- Political consultant Ralph Reed, the former director of the Christian Coalition and President Bush’s southeast regional chairman last year, registered a committee Friday that allows him to make a bid for lieutenant governor of Georgia next year.
“Ralph is exploring a possible candidacy for lieutenant governor,” said aide Sarah Few. “The papers filed today were precautionary to ensure he complies with state election law. When he has completed the exploratory process, he will announce his intentions.”
Candidates cannot accept money for campaigns until they have registered a committee, the step Reed took Friday.
