Description | He's not calling it a campaign kickoff, but when former Gov. Don Siegelman addresses the Rocket City Democrats next Wednesday, he will be testing the waters.
"I'm hoping and praying it will evolve into a kickoff," said Democrat organizer Pam Miles of a potential Siegelman run in 2006. "I thought he was a great governor."
The event, starting at 6 p.m. in the Jazz Factory's upstairs Martini Room, is billed as the "Governor's Listening Post," one of many Siegelman said he plans to have across Alabama. In an e-mail he sent to supporters Monday, he said wanted to discuss state issues, such as a lottery for education, constitutional reform, biotech research and health insurance for children.
