Description | Democrat Charlotte Pritt wants a new judge to hear her suit against several Republican groups that she says aired false ads about her during the 1996 gubernatorial election.
In a request filed Wednesday with the state Supreme Court, Pritt's lawyers accused Fayette Circuit Judge Charles Vickers of "gross prejudicial mismanagement of the case."
It is the second time Pritt's lawyers have asked the Supreme Court to toss out Vickers' rulings in the five-year-old case. Ever since 2001, when the Supreme Court ordered Vickers to let Pritt present her case to a jury, the judge has refused to let Pritt's lawyers add people to the roster of witnesses they plan to call at trial.
