Description | "State Sen. Nicholas Spano's lead over challenger Andrea Stewart-Cousins shrank again yesterday, with the latest count giving the 18-year veteran of the Senate a 77-vote lead.
Stewart-Cousins, a Democratic county legislator, picked up 16 votes more than Spano, with the opening of 55 paper ballots yesterday. Spano won the voting machine tally by only nine votes, but built a lead with the counting of the paper ballots that stood at 188 votes three weeks ago."
