Description | November could bring a shift in power to the state Senate, where Republicans hold a one-vote majority.
Key Puget Sound Senate races have developed in the 23rd and 41st districts -- the West Sound and the Eastside.
Voters [in the 41st district] should swing to Weinstein. The 50-year-old attorney demonstrates a broad and deep grasp of the issues and a refreshing streak of independence from political party ideology. He's well educated, well informed and packs a private-sector passion for solving problems rather than serving agendas.
In Kitsap County's 23rd District, including Bainbridge Island, current House Democrat Phil Rockefeller is an easy pick for the open Senate seat. His intellect, experience, demeanor and commitment to the district's most important issues -- including ferry service and transportation in general -- promise his smooth and effective transition into the Senate. |
