Description | Bobby Jindal raises million dollars for Louisiana Congressional campaign
The Hindustan Times
Indian American Bobby Jindal says he has raised close to a million dollars for his campaign for the US Congress. Jindal, a former assistant secretary in the Bush administration who is running from the 1st District in Louisiana, is rousing conservatives to elect him to save President George W. Bush's tax cut agenda in Washington. He said the amount raised so far "definitely places our campaign for Congress at a strong financial advantage, and it is quite likely that we raised more money in the first quarter than any other congressional challenger in the entire country!" Jindal is running for the seat vacated by another Republican, Congressman David Vitter, who is now running for the US Senate. In the conservative dominated District 1, Jindal's victory appears easier and two polls show he has a majority of the support for his candidacy. |
