Description | Recently appointed Alabama Attorney General Troy King replaces Bill Pryor, whose presidential appointment to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals was rocked with controversy because of his openly conservative views on homosexuality and abortion.
As a law student at the University from 1990 to 1993, King touted similar views, writing frequent editorials in The Crimson White on issues such as homosexuality, affirmative action and abortion.
King called homosexuality the downfall of society in the Feb. 21, 1992, CW.
"The existence of the Gay-Lesbian Alliance on this campus is an affront to the state of Alabama, its citizenry, this university and its students," King wrote.
