Philadelphia Weekly (PW), is a free alternative newspaper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
published every Wednesday.
The paper was founded as the Welcomat in 1971 as a sister publication to the South Philadelphia Press.
In 1995, the name was changed to Philadelphia Weekly.
The paper features local and national politics,
as well extensive coverage of the Arts - film, theater, visual arts, and music.
Its main competitor is Philadelphia City Paper, a similarly-themed free weekly publication.
Has the largest circulation of any weekly newspaper in Pennsylvania. |
