On occasion, a person has more than one user profile. The more common reasons this happens include:
1) Someone forgot his/her password and created a new account.
2) Someone with a lot of free time thought that having a second account would be an interesting means of entertainment (whether in good taste or not).
3) Someone made a lot of poor predictions and wants to start over rather than work out of negative numbers.
There are good reasons for not establishing unneeded duplicate accounts. Most of the serious users at OC are not impressed with a single person having a conversation with two different accounts.
In conclusion, please do not create duplicate accounts, and certainly don't maintain two active accounts.
