301-seat lower house of the Yemeni Parliament. Both it and the Shura, the Yemeni upper house, were either in a state of suspension or paralysis since the last parliamentary election was held in April 27, 2003 in light of continued civil strife. Leaders of the Houthi-led insurrection agreed to reopen the House on February 20, 2015. Members serve for six years.
