DescriptionBurke County is governed bBurke Commissioners Group Photoy a five-member Board of Commissioners, elected at large to serve four-year terms. Terms are staggered so that, every two years, three or four commissioner seats are up for election.

The Burke County Board of Commissioners’ regular meetings are held on the third (3rd) Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the County Board Room, Burke County Services Building, Door E, 110 N. Green Steet in Morganton, N.C. Regular meetings are open to the public, include a public comment period (Informal Public Comments) and they are streamed live on YouTube at BurkeCountyNC.
