The Prime Minister is the executive arm of the government of Iceland. He/She selects and presides over the Cabinet of Iceland (Stjórnarráð Íslands), the collective decision-making body of the government of Iceland. The Prime Minister is appointed by the president and must be approved by a majority of parliament.
