Description |
The Prime Minister is the chief executive of the country and Commander-in-Chief. The President appoints the Prime Minister after consultations with a 'Presidency Council'.
The nominated Prime Minister and his or her cabinet must be approved by majority vote of Iraq's Council of Representatives. The Prime Minister ostensibly serves a four-year term with a maximum two terms.
