| Description |
Territory was granted autonomy on November 15, 1917 then absorbed by the central Soviet authorities as the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic on March 20, 1919. Territory regained its sovereignty on October 11, 1990 in connection with the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty. It was subsequently renamed the Republic of Bashkortostan on February 25, 1992
