36-member provincial legislature. Members are directly elected by residents of the province to serve for six years. The Council is the preeminent administrative power of the province, deciding on all matters of relevance. The Council elects four of its members to form the government of the province, called the Deputatie (Deputation). The Deputatie is led by the provincial governor, who is also elected by the Council.
