The General Assembly is the representative electoral body of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, one of three counties which make up the Észak-Alföld (Northern Great Plain) region. It consists of 18 councilors directly-elected for five years by County residents. The General Assembly directs, monitors and nurtures the County's self-government and the self-sustainability of local settlements per Hungary's Basic Law.
