21-seat unicameral parliament also known as the "Estates." Parliament was established after the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles, out of which emerged the "Caribbean Netherlands," consisting of the "BES islands" (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba), and three countries still part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Aruba.
