Description |
The Prime Minister is appointed by the President and can be dismissed at any time. The Prime Minister is not the head of the government (a position occupied by the President) and has very limited powers, one of which is to coordinate the Council of Ministers or 'cabinet'. The Prime Minister is not permitted to select Council members, which is the President's job. The Prime Minister also represents the Council and the President in its dealings with the Assembly of the Republic.
