The Prime Minister is appointed by the President with the consent of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly. The President also appoints all members of a Council of Ministers, which is managed by a Presidium led by the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister is responsible for organizing the work of the Council of Ministers, directing its meetings and signing resolutions.
Deputies of the Prime Minister and chairmen of state committees are also appointed by the President of Belarus.
The prime minister, the first deputy prime minister(s), the deputy prime minister(s), the ministers of economy, finance, and foreign affairs, the head of the presidential administration, and the chairman of the State Control Committee together form the Presidium of the Council of Ministers.
