The Deerwood City Council is composed of a Mayor and 4 council persons. The Mayor is a two year term and the council seats are 4 year terms with two seats staggered by 2 years so all are not up at the same time. The council meets in the Historic Deerwood Auditorium in the Council Chambers at the back of the Gymnasium at 6:00 pm the 1st Monday of each month and on the 3rd Monday as needed.
