| Description |
The presidency is modeled for the most part on that of the United States. The President is chief executive and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia. He selects and presides over a Cabinet approved of by majority vote in the Liberian Senate. Treaties negotiated by the President must be approved of by majority vote in both chambers of the Liberian Congress. The President serves for six years, maximum two terms.
