| Description |
The Illinois Supreme court is elected by the people of a district, and all justices must be retained every 10 years. Cook County is its own district has 3 seats for the 7 seat court. Every other district only contributes on person for the court.
Justices on the Supreme Court are elected in partisan Elections but once on the bench they are non-partisan.
