190-seat lower house of the bicameral Congress of the Dominican Republic (Congreso de la República Dominicana).
178 seats are voted on directly by Dominican citizens living in the country, seven seats are reserved for and chosen by Dominican expatriate communities, and a further five are saved for smaller parties which clinched at least 1% of the vote in a general election but failed to obtain seats in the Chamber.
Members serve for four years.
