InfoIn 1950, the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce named attorney Robert S. McCollum one of Americas 10 outstanding young men. After serving four years on the Denver City Council, Mayor Nicholson appointed McCollum Manager of Parks and Improvements. In January 1957 McCollum represent the United States at an international refuge conference in Geneva. In April 1960 he was appointed vice-chancellor of the University of Denver. Starting in 1962, he served as president of the Colorado division of the American Association for the United Nations and in February 1964 he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Denver Board of Education.
