Info | Kevin Falcon was elected in 2001 to represent the residents of Surrey-Cloverdale. On June 5, 2001 he was appointed the post of Minister of State for Deregulation where he oversaw the reduction of over 30% of unnecessary government regulations and 'red tape' that had been stifling economic growth and opportunity for British Columbians.
Appointed Minister of Transportation on Jan. 26, 2004, Kevin has been leading the push for major improvements to transportation infrastructure across British Columbia. As Minister of Transportation, Kevin is actively overseeing a $210 million investment to improve Highway 10 and Highway 15 in order to better connect the growing communities south of the Fraser, including South Surrey/Cloverdale. He is also a strong advocate for the twinning of the Port Mann Bridge and widening the Trans-Canada Highway between Langley and Vancouver.
Kevin is involved in a variety of major projects that are directly benefiting the residents of South Surrey / Cloverdale:
* Construction of the new Surrey Museum and Archives in Cloverdale
* The new Kwantlen College Trades and Technology Campus in Cloverdale
* Cloverdale Cenotaph
* New Elementary Schools in Rosemary Heights and Grandview Heights
Whether fundraising with local Scouts and Guides or raising money to send Cloverdale swimmer Brittany Reimer to the Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Kevin has worked hard to serve the residents of this rapidly growing region.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and his real estate sales and mortgage brokers diploma from the University of British Columbia.
Kevin has been vice president of the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Surrey Museum and Archives Board. He has belonged to the Cloverdale Rotary and Elks clubs. He was also a director of the Vancouver Sea Festival, president of the Vancouver Junior Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer with the Cloverdale RCMP Bike Patrol.
Born in North Vancouver, Kevin now lives and works in Cloverdale. Kevin enjoys mountain biking, tennis, running and skiing.
Kevin Falcon and the BC Liberals ask for your support. On May 17, Re-elect Kevin Falcon as the MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale.
