Info | In November 2003, Mr. Kretschman was elected to the position of Montgomery County Controller, at the age of 33. He is married to Aimee B. Kretschman, and has two daughters, Annika (age 3) and Audrey (age 1).
Prior to his election as Controller, Mr. Kretschman served as a Township Commissioner in Abington Township for 10 years. When elected to that position, he was the youngest commissioner ever elected in the township's history. He went on to serve as Chairman of the Public Works Committee, as a founding member of the township's award-winning Economic Development Committee, as Vice President of the Board of Commissioners, and as a member of the Audit Committee and Code Enforcement & Land Development Committee. He resigned his commissioner seat in December 2003 in order to take the Controller position.
Mr. Kretschman is currently a Partner and Vice President of Acquisitions for a real estate investment and acquisitions firm in Philadelphia. He oversees acquisitions of apartment properties in Philadelphia,
Washington, DC, and Chicago. In addition to acquisitions, Mr. Kretschman has experience in a number of real estate areas including property management, financing, construction, and zoning.
Mr. Kretschman earned bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Drexel University and completed graduate coursework at the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Center of Government.
