Info | Rob Walker won a special election held May 24, 2005 to serve the 15th Assembly District, which encompasses northern Oyster Bay and portions of the towns of Hempstead and North Hempstead.
Assemblyman Walker brings a wealth of government and community service to his post, having been influenced by his mother, Rose, a trusted Oyster Bay Town Council member, and his late father, John, a community leader who established and held memberships in many local civic organizations.
Most recently, Assemblyman Walker served as deputy commissioner of parks for the town of Oyster Bay and spearheaded the town’s Save Environmental Assets Fund Committee. Before working in the parks department, he served three years as an assistant to Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, where he was director of traffic survey and constituent services.
In addition to his government service, Assemblyman Walker has volunteered his time to the Hicksville Football Association, the Hicksville Athletic Booster Club and the Hicksville Youth Council, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is a former teacher with the Syosset Central School District.
Assemblyman Walker is a graduate of Hicksville High School, where he was student government president. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Long Island University, where he was on the dean’s list and was a member of the 1996 NCAA Division II lacrosse championship team.
Assemblyman Walker is a lifelong resident of Hicksville, where he lives with his wife, Elizabeth.
