InfoEarle I. Mack was sworn-in as Ambassador to Finland on May 28, 2004. He presented his credentials to the President of Finland, Tarja Halonen on June 10, 2004.

Ambassador Mack has a long history associated with business, the arts, public service, and education.

His business life included being Senior Partner of The Mack Company, established a century ago in real estate investment, construction, development, and related trades. The firm, headquartered in Fort Lee, New Jersey, invests, develops, and manages income-producing commercial real estate. He was a Board Member of Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE) and served on the Executive Committee of the National Realty Council. Additionally, he was commissioned and completed articles for the ABA Banking Journal and for the Mortgage and Real Estate Executives Report among many other business accomplishments.

Dedicated to the arts, Ambassador Mack served as Chairman and CEO of the New York State Council on the Arts from 1996-1999 where presently he is Chairman Emeritus. He was a Board Member of the New York City Ballet and formerly Co-Chairman of the Board of the Dance Theater of Harlem. He produced The Children of Theatre Street, a 90-minute documentary film nominated for an Academy Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and winner of the Film Advisory Board's Award of Excellence. He co-produced a recent documentary called The Return in St. Petersburg, Russia, and he was co-producer of the feature film Hard Choices and the 90-minute documentary She Dances Alone. With Joseph Papp and the New York Shakespeare Public Theater, he co-produced the multi-media rock musical Stomp. In association with the National Actors Theatre in New York, he co-produced Judgment at Nuremberg.

Ambassador Mack was a Member of the New York Governor's Committee on Scholastic Achievement; a Member of the Advisory Board for the New York State Business Venture Partnership; a Member of the Board of Trustees of New York Racing Association; and Chairman of the New York State Racing Commission for seven years. In January 2002, he was a Member of the U.S. Presidential Delegation to the Inauguration of his Excellency Enrique Bolanos Geyer, President of the Republic of Nicaragua.

He received his Bachelor of Science from Drexel University and was honored being selected from 65,000 candidates as one of 100 outstanding alumni among the "Drexel 100", and he attended Fordham School of Law. He holds an honorary degree in Doctor of Humane Letters from Yeshiva University. From 1992-2004, he served as Chairman of the Board of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where presently he is Chairman Emeritus.

Ambassador Mack served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry, active duty; and as a First Lieutenant, U.S. Army Infantry and Military Police, reserve duty. He is married and has two children.
