In 1989 Dan defeated a 23 year incumbant to win his first term on Montville Township's Governing Body.
In his 5 terms on the Montville Township Committee as the only Democrat Dan has served as Deputy Mayor for 2 terms.
Dan has been selected as planning board representive 6 times and been a constant fighter of development interests. While Bob Martin and Trenton were working hard to give developers everything they needed, Dan has been working hard to curb development.
Dan was a 2003 recipiant of the prestigous New Jersey Planning Officials Achievment in Planning award.
While Bob Martin and Trenton were taking away the rights of Municipalities to control developers, Dan Grant went to Trenton to fight for a bill which returned some of those rights.
Dan is a life long resident of Montville Township where he lives with his wife Patricia.
