Info | Robert is a Parliamentary researcher and also works for a think-tank. He enjoys family connections in the South Lanarkshire and Lothian areas, from where his family originates. Previously to his current role as a researcher, Robert worked in Parliamentary affairs and in rail freight at the Strategic Rail Authority.
Robert has a degree in economics from the University of Portsmouth, and worked with Lord Freeman (the former Transport Minister) and John Swift QC (the former Rail Regulator) on a book about rail privatisation. He is a member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.
He is interested in a wide variety of current affairs, including economics, transport, education and criminal justice. Outside of politics, Robert is an organist and enjoys cricket, rugby, horseracing and walking.
