Info | Judy Wilson served as an Army civilian Public Affairs officer, supporting soldiers and their families, before retiring back home to North Alabama in Elkmont. She was called out of retirement last year to work on Hurricane Katrina Recovery operations for the US Army Corps of Engineers in coastal Mississippi.
Wilson is a graduate of Calhoun State College and Athens State University. She is a member of Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church of Athens, where she sings soprano in the choir. The mother of three grown children, she is blessed with eight grandchildren.
She belongs to the Society of American Military Engineers, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and is a past Chairman of Madison County Democratic Women. She is a faithful participant in water aerobics classes at the Athens-Limestone Wellness Center.
Before entering federal service, she was active in several campaigns in the area, among them Howell Heflin's Senate race, and Jimmy Carter's presidential contests. She was Alabama's Distinguished Young Woman in 1978.
