Info | In April of 1995, Governor Christie Whitman appointed Catherine DiCostanzo Mercer County Clerk. Ms. DiCostanzo went on to win the seat on November 7, 1995 becoming the first woman elected as County Clerk. Ms. DiCostanzo was re-elected in November of 2000.
As one of Mercer County's Constitutional Officers, Catherine or "Cathy D" as she is better known, is responsible for the administration of a broad range of services offered by the Clerk's Office.
Among the many services provided by the County Clerk's Office are the filling and recording of all documents affecting real estate ownership and/or the transfer of real estate throughout the County. In addition, the Clerk's Office assists residents in obtaining passports for foreign travel, provides photo identification cards as well as alcoholic beverage control cards.
