Info | Freeholder Dr. Warren S. Wallace is currently serving his second term on the Board of Chosen Freeholders for Gloucester County. Warren currently lives in Washington Township, with his wife Patricia, and daughters, Tiffany and Shana. His son, Rodney, is a career soldier with the United States Air Force.
Warren is a member of the charter graduating Class (70) of Gloucester County College. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Glassboro State College, now known as Rowan University, a Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University and a Management Certificate from Harvard University. He also attended Temple University for Graduate study. He is presently the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs which is the chief Academic and Student Affairs officer for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. He additionally holds a faculty appointment as an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine.
Warren has served on the Monroe Township Council and previously was chairman of the Monroe Township Board of Health. In addition, he served as a Gloucester County Democratic Committee person representing Monroe Township and Washington Township.
Warren’s other community services have included serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of Gloucester County College, Trustee of the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, Chairman of the Gloucester County Juvenile Conference Committee 4-A, Chairman of the Glassboro Child Development Center Board of Directors, foster parent, volunteer probation counselor, and 9/11 volunteer therapist at the Family Assistance Center at Liberty State Park.
He co-chaired Governor McGreevey’s Transition Team on Authorities and was appointed by the Governor as a Commissioner to the Delaware River and Bay Authority. In 2003, he was unanimously elected as vice chairperson and leader of the New Jersey delegation.
Warren has received numerous awards and honors for his civic contributions including the honor of being named Gloucester County College Alumnus of the Year, the UMDNJ Excellence Award, the UMDNJ Minority Health Council Recognition Award, the National Association of Medical Minority Educators Northeast Region and National Awards, the Elliot G. Heard Foundation Upstream Navigator Award and the Wounded Healer Spirit in Leadership Award.
Freeholder Wallace oversees and serves as liaison for the Department of Human Services, which encompasses the Human Services Department, Youth Services Commission, Human Services Advisory Council, Office for the Disability Services, DPAC (Disabled Persons Advisory Council) and the Transportation Advisory Board.
