Info | Frank D. White attended Texas A&M University and the United States Naval Academy where he graduated in June 1956. He accepted a commission in the U. S. Air Force, served five years as a pilot accumulating over 1800 hours, and was honorably discharged in the grade of captain.
White was elected the 41st governor of the State of Arkansas, defeating Bill Clinton, who would later become president of the United States. Governor White served one term, after being defeated for a 2nd term by Bill Clinton and resumed his banking career. He has served as an officer of many banking and investment organizations including Merrill Lynch; Commercial National Bank; Capital Savings and Loan; Stephens, Inc.; and finally, the First Commercial Bank of Little Rock.
White has been a board member and officer of many civic organizations such as the Little Rock Port Authority, Baptist Medical System Foundation, and 15 years with the Arkansas Children's Hospital. He served as general chairman of the Pulaski County United Way Campaign and on the national board of the Family Ministry, Campus Crusade for Christ.
White also served as a director of the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission. In 1983, he was appointed to serve as vice-chairman of the National Commission on Drunk Driving by President Reagan.
