After graduating from UCLA in 1988, Scileppi began legal studies at Whittier College School of Law. While still in law school, Scileppi began prosecuting criminal cases as a sponsored student at both the Hollywood City Attorney's Office and the Van Nuys branch of the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. Thereafter, Scileppi, worked for 3 years as a corporate defense attorney for the law firm of Spray, Gould & Bowers, before opening his own practice in 1995.
