He received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Harris Stowe State College in 1994. In 1995 he received the Legislator of the Year Award from the Missouri Police Chief=s Association and the Outstanding Freshman Legislator in Stiffer Punishment for Juveniles Convicted of Crime from the Missouri House of Representatives.
