InfoRep. Glenda Kelly, a Democrat, represents part of Buchanan County (District 27) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Her legislative successes include two measures passed in the 1996 session. The first provides for safer schools through the use of both alternative education courses and tougher penalties for disruptive or violent students. The second bill requires insurance policies to cover longer maternity stays for new mothers and their babies.

Rep. Kelly was a legal secretary in St. Joseph from 1960-89.

From 1991-94, Rep. Kelly was the mayor of St. Joseph and a board member for the Missouri Municipal League. She served on the St. Joseph City Council and as Deputy Mayor from 1986-91.

In 1990, Rep. Kelly received the St. Joseph Branch NAACP award. In 1993, she received both the James C. Kirkpatrick Good Government Award given by the Northwest Missouri Press Association and the St. Joseph Landmarks Commission Historic Preservation Leadership Award. She was also named the YWCA's Outstanding Woman of the Month for July 1993 and Outstanding Woman of the Year for 1993.

Born on June 3, 1944, Rep. Kelly is a 1989 graduate from Missouri Western State College. She resides with her husband, Dennis, in St. Joseph. She has two children, Gina Wolf and Chad Campbell and three grandchildren, Megan and Brie Wolf and Zachary Campbell.
