Info | O�TOOLE, Donald Lawrence, a Representative from New York; born in Brooklyn, N.Y., August 1, 1902; attended the public and parochial schools; was graduated from St. James Academy, Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1916 and from the law department of Fordham University, New York City, in 1925; postgraduate student at Columbia University and New York University, New York City; was admitted to the bar in 1927 and commenced practice in New York City; member of the board of aldermen 1934-1936; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fifth and to the seven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1937-January 3, 1953); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1952 to the Eighty-third Congress and for election in 1954 to the Eighty-fourth Congress; resumed the practice of law; executive director of New York State Department of Commerce and Industry 1955-1957, and commissioner of the department from August 1, 1958, to April 29, 1959; was a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y.; died in Ocala, Fla., September 12, 1964; interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.
