He is a career actor and singer whose initial fame came from playing Jesus in the original Japanese stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar in 1973 and followed with many roles in theatre, television, film, and as a voice actor in anime. Kaga is best known in the United States for his portrayal of the flamboyant and eccentric chairman on Iron Chef.
