Info | John Reid, Baron Reid of Cardowan, PC (born 8 May 1947) is a Scottish football club chairman and a Labour Party politician.
Reid was elected to the UK Parliament in 1987 and served in several senior cabinet positions under Tony Blair, including as Secretary of State for Scotland, Secretary of State for Health, Secretary of State for Defence and Home Secretary. In 2007, he left the cabinet with Blair, and retired from parliament in 2010, upon which he became a peer. Reid intends to take a leading role in the campaign for a No vote in the AV referendum in 2011.[1]
Since 2008, Reid has been Chairman of Scottish Premier League football club Celtic.
