Political or Government Work: When I became a school nurse, I joined the Alaska School Nurse
Association (ASNA). Living in the state capital, I have been actively
involved with the ASNA Legislative Committee. With the State
Department of Education & Early Development, I participated as a
school nurse representative to help produce the Alaska Education
Challenge, a guiding document for the Department of Education &
Early Development.

Special Interests: As my children would say, my soap box is childhood trauma and
how we can prevent trauma to ensure that all children can grow
into healthy adults able to fully participate in society.
I am a lifelong learner and a “news junkie” from my college years,
subscribing to several local and national newspapers and more apt
to spend vacation time attending a conference than lounging on a
beach although in retirement, hoping to do that as well.
