| Info | Assemblyman Jackie R. Mattison, a Democrat, who served from 1988 to 1997. He is now a top aide to Newark Mayor and state Sen. Sharpe James. Mattison was one of a half dozen high-level city officials charged following a mid-1990s federal corruption probe in Newark. Mattison resigned following his March 1997 conviction for bribery and conspiracy. Prosecutors said he took nearly $17,000 to steer city insurance contracts to a broker. Mattison was sentenced to 41 months in prison.
