InfoMartha Yeager Walker of Charleston, Kanawha County, was appointed to a six-year term with the Public Service Commission beginning in December, 2000. Married to H. Jarrett Walker with three children and seven grandchildren. Attended Penn State University and is a graduate of West Virginia University.

Elected to House of Delegates in 1990. Elected to the Senate in 1992 and 1996.

Award recipient: Outstanding Senator of the Year Award by the West Virginia Association of Directors of Senior Programs (1996), Outstanding Legislator of the Year Award for her Commitment Toward Excellence to Local Public Health (1996), Women Achievement Award by Charleston YWCA (1999), Legislator of the Year by West Virginia Children's Coalition (2000), Award of Merit for commitment to West Virginia Hospitals and West Virginia Health Care by the West Virginia Hospital Association (2000) and Presidential Citation by the West Virginia Health Care Association (2000).

She is active in numerous organizations, including: Rotary International; West Virginia University Alumni Association; Sustaining member, Junior League of Charleston; Board Member, Edgewood Summit; Board Member, Center for Rural Health Development.

She is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Charleston.
