InfoChief Thomas Adamo began his career as a Corrections Officer with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office. In 1997, he attended the Basic Police Class at the Passaic County Police Academy and was nominated as Class President by his fellow recruits. After successfully completing the academy, he was transferred to the Patrol Division.

Chief Adamo was later promoted to detective and assigned to the Sheriff’s Anti-Crime Unit and later assigned to the NJ DEA Task Force. In 2010, he was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Sheriff’s Motorcycle/Traffic Unit. In 2015, he was promoted to Detective Lieutenant, where he was the Commanding Officer of the Narcotics Division, Internet Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Division. In January of 2017, he was promoted to Detective Captain and assumed command of the Special Investigations, where he oversaw all Administrative Investigations.

Chief Adamo has received numerous awards throughout his career. He was a member of the Hurricane Katrina Response Team in 2005, and in 2009 received the Valor Award from the Passaic County 200 Club.

Chief Adamo is married with two children and has been a lifelong resident of Passaic County.
