| Info | I grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois. After a trip to Estes Park, my family and I moved to Loveland, CO, in 2008. A few years later, I found myself a single mom to a 5-year-old, and struggling to support myself and my daughter. Through that struggle I learned about the caring nature of the people and supportive services in Northern Colorado.
I became a participant in the program Project Self-Sufficiency in 2011, gaining access to their supportive services to help me attend college while working part-time. At the same time, I received support from a variety of other local agencies that helped secure food, housing, clothing, and more for myself and my daughter. With the help of others, I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Colorado State University in 2016.
After graduation, I secured a position with a local non-profit organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County. I remarried in 2017 and later attended graduate school at Colorado State University, receiving my Master's Degree in Social Work in 2020. My social work programs, professors, and fellow students helped to grow my passion for research, social advocacy, and policy work.
I now spend my days serving youth and their families, while finding ways to expand my reach. I have served on the Loveland Planning Commission for the past 3 years and volunteered on a Larimer County Behavioral Health Committee since 2021. I enjoy spending my downtime at home with my daughter, now a high school senior, my husband, and our pets.
