Info | A legacy of service.
A focus on the future.
Hello! My name is Monica C. Church and I’m proud to announce my run for the Idaho Legislature, District 19 Seat A.
As granddaughter of Cecil and Carol Andrus and Frank and Bethine Church, my passion for the Great State of Idaho and a commitment to service runs deep. I’ve always sought to honor the legacy of my grandparents, their abiding love of our state, and their commitment to our shared Democratic values. Running for office marks the next step in a life-long journey of public service, and one I’m excited to take.
Following 13 years of service as an educator, I’m eager to advocate for Idaho’s students, educators, and public schools in the Statehouse. Public schools are the great equalizer – particularly in predominantly rural states like Idaho – and the essential hearts of our communities. It is our legislature’s constitutional duty to protect those schools and deliver on the promise of free, uniform public education, and I will take that duty seriously.
I currently work for the School of Public Service at Boise State University as the director of the Frank Church Institute and adjunct professor. I’m proud to sit on the boards of both the Andrus Center and the Frank Church Institute at Boise State and serve as an Ethics Commissioner for the City of Boise. I’m also a member of the Sawtooth Society Board and the United States Global Leadership Coalition Idaho Delegation.
I live in Boise’s North End with my husband, my daughter, and a naughty dog.
