Info | Commissioner James E. (Jeb) Ball is a life-long resident of Baldwin County and lives in Bay Minette with his wife and their daughter.
Commissioner Ball attends City Hope Church in Malbis where he volunteers on the security monitoring team. Commissioner Ball is a member of the State of Alabama Republican Party, a member of the Baldwin County Republican Party, and an associate member of both the Eastern Shore and South Baldwin Republican Women. Commissioner Ball is a board member and a business member of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, a member and past president of the Bay Minette Rotary Club and serves on the boards of the Community Action Agency of South Alabama, Baldwin County Courthouse Security Committee, and the Baldwin County Drug Court.
Commissioner Ball is a graduate of Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette. Commissioner Ball attended Troy State University in Troy, Alabama, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.
While in college, during summer breaks Commissioner Ball was a summer helper for the Baldwin County Board of Education, assisting the Board with carpentry and remodeling projects. After graduating college, he worked for the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office as an Environmental Investigator and Criminal Trial Coordinator for the 28th Judicial Circuit Court. Commissioner Ball worked as a Court Referral Officer for Baldwin Court Services, Inc. from 1997 until 2007 when he decided to pursue an opportunity to further educate and help individuals facing alcohol, drug and substance abuse or dependency by establishing Baldwin Substance Abuse Services, Inc. where he has served as the Program Director and an Education Instructor providing court referral education programs in Baldwin County for prevention and treatment.
Commissioner Ball is currently serving his second term on the Baldwin County Commission (Terms: 2018-2022, 2022-2026).
