Info | I am running for California Assembly District-11; including Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville, Oakley, Suisun City, Discovery Bay, Benicia, Dixon, and Rio Vista. I am a professional civil engineer licensed in California since 1994 (BSE from Duke). I have spent decades in senior management in the aerospace and defense industry on programs we depend on to be reliable, such as the 787, 737, Patriot, Blackhawk, F-16, M-1, AEGIS, and Chinook. As a former business executive I have grown my business headcount (Zodiac Aerospace / Icore ) from 120 people to 240 during the 2008-2010 recession and understand the importance of creating jobs.
I have spent the last five years writing grants for FEMA funding, providing Technical Support and Benefit Cost Analysis for over $1BN of hazard mitigation grants requesting funding for improvement of aging or destroyed civil infrastructure preventing floods., wildfires, and earthquakes.
I will galvanize California State level support of the development of updated affordable housing plans and the need for community infrastructure.
I support regional town planning and Federal funding of projects improving resilience to natural disasters. I believe regional infrastructure cooperation among the existing long term planning teams in Assembly District 11 can better support economic development, affordable and low-cost housing, and support for the homeless population.
I support school choice, and a back-to-basics approach to education and government. I spent 2 years on the San Leandro Planning Commission and 4 years as President of the United Parents for San Leandro High School.
I believe in building things right the first time and building aging Infrastructure better the second time.
I am a fiscal conservative and a moderate on social issues.
We can take advantage of Federal support to secure our share of the funding. by having shovel-ready projects in our plans. Working together, we can achieve nonpartisan progress on our 3 biggest issues:
(1) Housing
(2) Homelessness
(3) Supporting Infrastructure on our terms, for our District.
