William Henry Harrison Hart was born in England on January 25, 1848. He immigrated with his family to the United States at the age of four. At the age of eight, he was kidnapped by the Blackhawk Indians and later orphaned at the age of 11. With his turbulent upbringing, he directed his youthful energy and desire for danger by joining a company of private scouts at age 13 under Ulysses S. Grant. He bravely fought in the battlefields of the Civil War until 1866. Hart was elected as Attorney General on November 4, 1890 and served until 1894. On December 24, 1918, at the age of 69, Hart died after contracting the Spanish Flu.
